Vancouver Community College's TESOL Diploma program is a comprehensive program of studies for teaching English to speakers of other languages, in Canada or abroad, consisting of 9 core courses and a supervised teaching internship. This program is recognized for professional certification (Level 2) by TESL Canada.

The TESOL Diploma Program is 10 months in duration, starting once per year in September (no classes in July or August) and consists of 10 core courses. This program is designed to involve the student in a variety of learning environments and instructional delivery methods. Throughout the program, students participate in lectures, demonstrations, peer teaching, group teaching and activities, and individual practice teaching. There may be guest instructors, instructional videos and an opportunity to use computer and audio labs. There is a supervised practicum.
Prior to enrolling in Term 3 (TESO 1266 Teaching Academic English and TESO 1270 Internship) students must have completed all other courses.
English requirements for this program indicate the need for demonstrated proficiency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills.
To receive the TESOL diploma, students must complete all of the required courses.
Classes are generally held in the evenings from 6:30 - 9 p.m. (subject to change).
This program is recognized for professional certification (level 2) by TESL Canada.
Students who have completed all of the courses in this program must apply to receive their credential. Please complete the application for TESOL credential form and submit it to the Registrar's Office.
