Join us for a series of events celebrating Indigenous communities in Canada


Please join VCC in recognizing the history, heritage, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples in Canada.

VCC is celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21) on Monday, June 20, 2022. We will be hosting a series of events and sharing resources to recognize and share the history, culture, and perspectives of Indigenous communities in Canada.

BROADWAY CAMPUS EVENTS, BUILDING B, LEVEL 1

  • 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Indigenous artisan and community resources booths
  • 11 - 11:30 a.m. Elder welcome | Opening remarks
  • 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Film Unceded Chiefs by Doreen Manuel
  • 1 - 2 p.m. Cultural workshop – Dreamcatchers
  • 1 - 2 p.m. Documentary 8th Fire Episode 1
  • 2 - 3 p.m. Performance of “Heritage” by Sam Bob and crew

DOWNTOWN CAMPUS EVENTS

  • 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Bannock and tea, Gathering Space, Level 1, room 100m
  • 1 - 2 p.m. Documentary 8th Fire Episode 1, room 237
