Entrance awards

Welcome

Happy student

Vancouver Community College (VCC) is proud to offer Entrance Awards based on early admissions for select programs that start in January 2027, May 2027 or September 2027.

Students wanting to advance their studies but feeling the pinch of financing their education have an opportunity to benefit from this award for their first two semesters of study.

Nine programs currently offer between $500 to $2,000 off tuition and fees.

Students who accept their offer of admission for the January 2027, May 2027 or September 2027 term will automatically receive the tuition award until all are claimed.

This initiative, which is funded by the VCC Foundation, will help address the ongoing labour shortages in the hospitality, trades, tech and education sectors in the province, while also making education accessible and affordable by providing financial supports to students facing today's high cost of living.

Developmental Program Area Awards

If you are already a VCC student in Career Access, Basic Education (up to grade 9), Adult Basic Education (grades 10-12), or EAL (English as an Additional Language) Pathways or Advanced Pathways, you may be eligible for a Developmental Program Area Award. These awards recognize students who have demonstrated a commitment to their studies.

The one-time Developmental Program Area Awards are valued at $500 each.

VCC Indigenous Student Entrance Award (for any program)

Indigenous students entering any VCC program may be eligible for additional entrance award funding. Awards are offered on a first come, first served basis, and students are encouraged to accept their admission offer as early as possible to be considered.

  • Total amount: $2,500
All funds will be applied as tuition credit and disbursed over two semesters. For example, the $2,500 will be disbursed as a $1,250 tuition credit in September and one $1,250 tuition credit in January.

For more information about Indigenous Entrance Awards, please contact indigenous@vcc.ca or meet with one of VCC's Indigenous Engagement Advisors.

There are additional internal and external funding opportunities you may qualify for.
