Auto Body and Collision Technician Apprentice Level 4 (E-pprentice) (ACAP 4003)
This blended delivery course provides Level 4 technical training for apprentices in the provincial Auto Body and Collision Technician program. Students learn frame repair techniques including the use and maintenance of pulling equipment, structural damage analysis, and sectioning considerations for major structural components. The course also covers estimate supplements, sublet repairs, quality control, mechanical components, and service requirements for advanced vehicle electronics. Additionally, students explore the importance of mentorship in the workplace. The course is delivered in a blended format, combining online self-paced study, live videoconference instruction, and on-campus practical training.
Delivery Format:
• Online Component: Approximately 18 weeks of guided self-study from home.
• Live Videoconference Sessions: 1 week of full-time instruction from home or the workplace.
• On-Campus Component: 2 weeks of full-time, hands-on training.
Assessment and Certification:
• Students must achieve a minimum final grade of 70% at VCC to pass the course.
• A grade of 70% or higher also qualifies students to:
- Receive SkilledTradesBC Technical Training credit for Auto Body and Collision Technician Level 4
- Write the SkilledTradesBC Interprovincial Red Seal Exam

Students must be registered apprentices in the SkilledTradesBC Auto Body and Collision Technician program and have a valid SkilledTradesBC ID number AND ACAP 3002 Auto Body and Collision Technician Apprentice Level 3 OR ACAP 3003 Auto Body and Collision Technician Apprentice Level 3 (E-pprentice).Schedule information: This course is delivered through 18 weeks of self-study, followed by 1 week of full-time live videoconference sessions, followed by 2 weeks on full-time on campus training.
