Advanced Mechanical Systems and Gearboxes (WTEC 1200)
Building on prior mechanical training, this course focuses on specialized turbine systems including YAW controls, pitch mechanisms, and gearboxes. Students will maintain control systems, service pitch mechanisms, align gearbox components, replace bearings and seals, and service lubrication systems. They will diagnose complex mechanical issues and document procedures—skills essential for maximizing energy output and extending equipment lifespan.
