Grant renewal expands upskilling opportunities in high-demand sectors

The Province of British Columbia is renewing its StrongerBC Future Skills grant for the third consecutive year, allowing residents over the age of 19 to receive a one-time grant of $3,500 from eligible post-secondary institutions to up-skill in industries that are in high demand.

The amount of funding you receive depends on how much of the lifetime allocation you have used. First-time participants will have up to $3,500 of their tuition costs covered.

Eligibility

You are eligible to apply for this grant if you:

  • Are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person entitled to study in Canada
  • Are a resident of B.C. and currently live in B.C.
  • Are 19 years or older or you have graduated high school by the time the course or program begins
  • Are not receiving duplicate or overlapping funding to cover the eligible costs
  • Give consent to disclose learner and registration information to the Province of B.C.
