English language requirements
Pharmacy Technician
Students who are applying to VCC's Pharmacy Technician program must meet specific English language requirements.
Please choose the option below that applies to you.
Students who have completed three years* of full-time, face-to-face secondary or post-secondary education in an English-speaking country where English is the primary language of instruction may meet VCC's Pharmacy Technician English language requirements by completing the following:
- Option 1 (Note: This test is currently not available, please use Option 2):
VCC Adult Basic Education Reading and Writing Assessment with the following results:
- Reading: 60
- Writing sample: 0991
Visit the VCC Assessment Centre to book an appointment. Scores are valid for one year.
- Option 2:
Duolingo English Test with the following results:
- Overall: 120
*English as an Additional Language (EAL) courses are not considered in the three-year calculation.
Students who have not completed three years of full-time, face-to-face secondary or post-secondary education in an English-speaking country where English is the primary language of instruction may meet VCC’s Pharmacy Technician English language requirements by completing the following:
External language tests
Students may meet VCC's English language requirements by completing IELTS academic modules, or Internet-based TOEFL.
Proof of credentials
All applicants using external credentials (e.g. degrees, credits, or test scores) to meet VCC's English language requirements must provide proof upon application.
