Professional Practice for Pharmacy Technicians 2 (PHAR 2100)
This course builds on foundational pharmacy knowledge and deepens students’ understanding of the pharmacy profession and the critical role of pharmacy technicians in supporting healthcare delivery. Students will examine the professional competencies required for entry-to-practice as a Pharmacy Technicians in Canada. Students will also explore emerging trends and issues, evolving pharmacy practices, and the expanding scope of pharmacy technicians. Research skills will be further developed and applied to provide evidence-based information to enhance patient outcomes. Students will continue to explore health inequities and contemporary issues experienced by Indigenous peoples, and develop an action plan to promote cultural humility, safety, and anti-racism. Students will continue to deepen their understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
