These are the English assessments offered by VCC and for VCC programs only. Learn about the topics covered and the length of each assessment.

VCC NG Accuplacer
  • WritePlacer (essay)
  • Reading

Note: You will take this in-person assessment on a computer. Practice and prepare.

 maximum 1.5 hours
VCC EAL (ESL) Accuplacer
  • ESL WritePlacer (essay)
  • ESL Reading Skills
  • ESL Listening

maximum 3.5 hours
(EAL Accuplacer + EAL Speaking Assessment):

  • up to 2.5 hours (computer-based Accuplacer)

plus

  • up to 45 minutes wait time for Speaking assessment

plus

  • 15 minute Speaking assessment

VCC EAL (ESL) Speaking Assessment 

 

Note: Your speaking assessment will be one on one with a faculty assessor.  

VCC HCA (Health Care Assistant) NG Accuplacer
